The nearest one is the Municipal Tourist Beach, which is a 10-15 minute walk (1km) from the villa. It is just one of several beaches in the Paphos area that has been awarded blue-flag status for its exceptional high standard and bathing water quality.
There are many small sandy bays dotted around the town and larger ones further along the coast towards Geroskipou, where several of the larger hotels are located.
Many visitors head to one of the best beaches in the area at Coral Bay, with its golden sands and beautiful sheltered bay. Limestone rock borders the horseshoe shaped cove and the sea here is calm and clear, making it ideal for children. Located 6 miles (10km) north of Paphos, it is easily reached by the excellent and very cheap local bus service.
Further afield are the largely unspoilt beaches of the Akamas Peninsula, an area of outstanding natural beauty. The crystal clear waters there are excellent for snorkelling and scuba diving.
